I'm doing much better after a good night's sleep and a fairly normal day. Though, my mom called me at 7:23am to tell me that she was listening to a cd I had made her and stopped in Wawa and the same song was playing.

As promised - here are my CreationCon photos. Oddly enough, unlike everyone else's camera, mine took the best pictures with the flash off. Though, some of them are blurry for no good reason.

And I forgot an amusing bit to yesterday afternoon. When I went to pick up my photo op with David Nykl, I commented to one of the volunteers who I had chatted with through all of my photo ops and when I'd go to pick them up that I didn't look as red in the one with David as I did with the others. (I have rosacea.) And Chris, the photographer, comes over and teasingly says, "You're red? You're angry with me, aren't you? Go ahead, be angry with me." And I was like, "Dude, I'm *so* not angry with you" and I explained what I meant and he gave me a hug. And we chatted for a minute and he goes, "What happened to your friends? You guys didn't get any group photo ops this year." And I told him, "Well, a couple of them are here, but two of us wanted to do a few different things and the third is volunteering, so it didn't work out." (So he remembers us from last year!) Then he asked if I was coming to any other Creationcons and I told him I didn't have any plans to, and that I'd have to see. He gave me another hug and told me he hoped to see me again. I'm curious as to how I made such an impression that he remembers that I did two group shots last year.

Which reminds me - [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick - is there any way I can get a copy of those pictures?

(Shh! It's really 1:46 am, but I wanted to get this on the right day.)

So I had to work late tonight because we had a booksigning. For Lance Bass.

It was actually rather fun. He's adorable because he rambles on when he's telling stories and gets easily sidetracked.

And it's also interesting to see as an outsider because the fans are crazy about him. Therefore, it's kinda like, "so this is what I probably looked like this past weekend." Though, I cringed a bit due to the fact that, during the Q&A portion, a few fans asked if they could hug him. That's, like, the cardinal rule of what not to do. But he was really cool about it.

Slowly coming down off my high from this weekend. And I had to laugh - last night, I was showing my dad the photo op pics I had been able to pick up (Tony Amendola, Alexis Cruz, and Paul McGillion) and I show them to him in that order and tell them who they are and what character they played and before I could say Paul's character, my dad says, "He's the star of Stargate." I had to explain to him that, no he wasn't (well, not *star* star).

And I've been remiss in saying that I got a lot of nice compliments about the bag [livejournal.com profile] lunanne made for me.

Also? I think it's interesting that when I think back over this past weekend, whenever I think of Paul, the first thing that comes to mind is a visual of him in the bar, laughing. Go figure.

Whoo. All my con pictures have been sorted and put up on Photobucket. This is a record.

They can be found here.

And I will apologize for some of them being fuzzy. Try as I might, some of them just wouldn't come out clear. Let's just say, I came home with camera envy for some of the people sitting in front of me.

*sighs* I'm home now. No closing any bars tonight. Or staying up so late it's early. (Yeah, last night after I posted and then she posted, [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick and I started talking and didn't stop until 3:45 - so if the time hadn't been adjusted, I went to bed only 45 minutes earlier last night than I did the night before. Can you even call it night at that point?)

Day 3: I would not shower with that man. )

And I think I've covered everything. Though I'm willing to expound or whatever if anyone's interested.

I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow after I finish going through yesterday and today's.

I do think it's interesting how going into this con, I was as excited about seeing [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick as I was seeing the stars. And Paul prior to this weekend was an "oh, that's cool" but that was pretty much it - much like Michael Shanks. And now I'm still feeling the same way about MS, but with Paul, I'm totally head over feet.

And now it's time for a nice hot bath and some sleep. I'm quite glad I don't have to go in until ten tomorrow.

Well, we just closed the bar (at 1:00 am).

Day 2: You gotta go up to go down. )
sam_gamgee: (Default)
Yes, the time stamp is correct. And for the record, I've been up for 23.5 hours straight. I hope this makes sense.

Day One: Good Lord, get in here. )

So, I went ahead and bit the bullet and got a gold pass for the NJ Creation Con in November. I had been waffling about even going since last year (I did have a good time, but...*shrugs*) Though, the guest line-up seems pretty awesome and I figure it's going to be my last chance to see them (unless there's an act of God or something) because I had decided that I'd only do one more Creation con, plus this is apparently going to be their last one in NJ.

My only thing is, right now I don't have anyone to go/hang out with. I don't mind driving to and from alone, but I'd kinda like to be able to hang out with people I know in between times and share a room with. Is anyone else going? Or know people who are going? Or know where I can meet up with people who are going beforehand?

In other news, yay to the fact that I've been writing steadily since I got home from visiting [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon. Also yay to the fact that for the past few nights, I've been working on two stories and doing a minimum of 500 words on each a night. Boo to the fact that I can't bang it out right away and get sidetracked a lot, thereby going to bed *way* *too* *late*.

Remembered a few other things that I didn't put in last night's post.

- All of the gold pass people got a "Stargate SG-1 10th anniversary" bag when we registered and inside was an autographed promo pic of Beau Bridges. (Me finding out about that was looking into the bag and thinking, "Oh, look, a promo pic of Beau Bridges." Then [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley pulling her copy of the picture out and having the same reaction and then I noticed the signature and said, "Oh, cool, it's signed." And [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley said, "It's signed?")

- At the end of Cliff's talk, as he was crossing the stage to sign one of the banners, he lifted up his shirt and the sixpack on that man - damn. Also, his left wrist is fused.

- When Joe signed the banner that had Carmen's picture on it, he outlined the top of Carmen's head, and then drew horns.

- Colin can also do magic tricks. I saw him do one with transferring a coin into an unopened can of soda and part of one involving bending silverware.

I am now back from the con. I'm tired and everything's a bit overloaded and a blur, but I did have a great time.

The bad - I got a speeding ticket in NJ on the way home and the cop seemed to be a bit of a hard-ass PITA. So - *grr* to that. And we couldn't get the extra nights at the original hotel put back on my card or transfered to another hotel, but we do have credit at that specific hotel and it sounds like we can put it off almost indefinitely. (But it might be nice if [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley and I want to go up and see Common Rotation in NYC or something.

And on to the good, aka I'm totally in love with Colin Cunningham now. )

I can't believe it's over already.
