Yes, the time stamp is correct. And for the record, I've been up for 23.5 hours straight. I hope this makes sense.
I went in to work for four hours this morning to help open and the plan originally was for me to stop off at WW and then get something to eat on the way. Things took a little longer than expected, so I didn't get going right away, but I was like, "I'm not going to worry about it too much, since I'm sure I'll make the time up on the way." Then
mashfanficchick called me at about 1:30 to tell me she was running late and that she'd call me when she got to the hotel, and "oh, by the way, they moved everything up half an hour, so Tony's starting at 2:30 and not at 3:00." Which pissed me off, since I was going to miss a tiny bit of it to begin with. I didn't have any problems driving up, though, which was good.
I did get to see the tail end of Tony Amendola's talk - maybe five minutes worth. Afterwards was his photo shoot and it went quickly. He was sweet, though I don't remember much.
Alexis Cruz's talk was good. He got asked some good questions - like about Skaara and Klorel and if he wasn't acting what would he be doing (teaching acting) And "Shark" came up a few times. He seems like a really interesting guy.
Saw a lady I met here last year in line for Tony's autograph and we chatted while waiting. (
nakedwesley - it was Sue.) Tony was cute - in addition to signing my notebook, he drew a little Bra'tak face.
While Alexis signed my book, I told him, "L---- from Dragon*Con told me to tell you 'hi'." And he was like, "Good" and grinned. Afterwards, I was shaking. I don't know why - this hasn't happened to me in years. I can only think that I've been wanting to meet Alexis for forever from his stuff on SG-1 and the movie as well as "Touched by an Angel". His photo op also went well and he was nice. And
mashfanficchick, who had gone into the room with me, told me I looked cute when I asked her how she thought the picture would look.
After that, it was basically time for me to go to the celebrity dinner. It was Tony and Alexis and then 20 con-goers. It was kind of pricey, but I was rationalizing it that I would kick myself if I didn't. So I went, and since I was the first person to show up for the second table, I got to sit next to both of them - we got half the meal with one and half with the other. It's interesting - with Tony, the coversation was kind of laid back and about things like acting and entertainment and such. And Alexis, we talked about the US today with the goverment and oil. (So, not the lightest subjects.)
After the dinner, a few of us lingered to talk and when we finally did come out, someone said that Paul McGillon was over by the elevators. I wandered over with a few people because I needed to go back to my room to get my bag, but they wouldn't let us near him. On the way down a few minutes later, the door opens and Paul, his handler, and a couple other con-goers are in there and I hesitated for a second and Paul's like, "Good Lord - get in already."
The caberet was fun. Tony did some readings - which was everything from Shakespeare to Robin Williams - very funny. And Tony reciting Shakespeare is quite hot. Alexis did his Macho Busboy routine, which was hilarious. Paul's only real duty tonight was introducing Alexis. And I have a feeling that may have been a last minute thing.
After the caberet,
mashfanficchick, her friend, her friend's boyfriend, and I wandered over to the bar. Tony came in a bit later and mingled a bit. Then Paul and Alexis came in, but Alexis didn't really mingle. Paul did. Well, he didn't really mingle in the moving around sense, as much as people were always around him. I, at one point, went over to tell Sue something and ended up getting sucked in to the converstion. He's quite animated and fun though - good sense of humor. He's also very touchy-feely - giving lots of high-fives (of which I got one), knuckle bumps, hugs and kisses on the cheek (the last two of these I also got). And he even gave me a side-cuddle. At one point, he randomly tells me I'm hot (don't ask me where it came from, I don't know). And then later, he was telling, a couple of us what he thought of us and he trailed his finger down my nose and told me I was hilarious. And whatever you all may be thinking - yes, he was drinking, but no, he was not drunk. His handler was worse off by the end of the night than he was.
Then
mashfanficchick, her friends, our new friend J, and I came back to
mashfanficchick and mine's room and hung out and ordered some appetizers from an Italian restaurant to get something to eat.
I am so glad things don't start until about 1:00 tomorrow. This way I get a chance to sleep some.

Date: 2007-11-03 03:37 pm (UTC)I was laughing so hard at the elevator story. I can imagine the look of surprise when the doors opened and Paul was standing there. Sounds like he had a great time at the bar (and you too!) Hope he's that relaxed and fun in London next year.
Hope you get some sleep and can't wait to hear about Saturday!!

Date: 2007-11-03 03:58 pm (UTC)Yeah, I can imagine my look too. Especially since he was the first person I saw when the doors opened. I think he did. It definitely sounded like it. He's such a cutie.
I did get a bit of sleep. :-D
