The above is courtesy of Dan Shea.
After I left Panera this morning, I came up to Cherry Hill. The ride was smooth and easy until I got off the NJ Turnpike and stopped for a bathroom break. When I went back to start my truck, it took me a few times until it actually started. Then I was getting ready to leave the parking lot and it stalled again. So I called my dad and told him and finally got him to agree to taking it to the mechanics when I get home. But then the rest of the trip went fine.
The check-in process went quickly and easily and I ran into Elissa as I was getting out of line so we were able to check in together.
Dan Shea was the first one up to do his Q & A. He's *really* hyper - adorable, but hyper. And he has a lot of fun stories. And when he gets on a tanget, he *really* gets on a tangent. Oh, and he calls RDA either "big boy" or "my boy" - it's kind of cute. After that, I did the photo op with him. There were, literally, about a dozen of us there in line - maybe not even that many. I was surprised. He was very nice and sweet. (And the picture actually turned out well.)
There was a bit of a break that I wandered around a bit before going back for Gary Jones' Q & A. He's also a lot of fun - more than I was expecting. He has a lot of fun stories from working in the business for so long.
We hung out for the autographs. Dan was funny - when he heard my name, he went, "Like 'Yo! Adrian!'?" and when I replied in the affirmative, he said, "And how do you spell that?" So he wrote in my notebook, "Yo! Adrian yo! Great hangin' in Jersey with ya'll." and then signed his name.
From there a bunch of us skipped watching the SGA episode because we were like, "We need food", so we'll figure out how to get the episode later and we went to get dinner.
The cabaret was lots of fun. Gary told some stories of working with Hollywood legends. His story of working with Mickey Rooney is hysterical.
Chuck Campbell was also there and he does some really good voices. It was funny watching him doing immitations - like Christopher Walken doing Ronon.
Dan Shea was much more focused tonight. And one of the things he was talking about was how the set was declared a "no flatulence zone" because of Christopher Judge. So RDA had to flaunt his ability to do so because he was the executive producer and star of the show. And somehow he jumps from there to "...and [RDA's] sphincter looks like this" and holds his hand up. And there was a bunch of laughter from the audience and he realized what he said and quickly moved on to another topic.
I'll try to get the pictures up as soon as Photobucket decides to cooperate.

Gah, I so wish I was there. Well, I probably could've done without Gary's bit (is he still as much of a jerk as he was a couple of years ago? Because then, he was funny, but he was just really unnecessarily mean.), but other than that, yeah. And, oh my God, Dan Shea's talk sounds hilarious! I take it no one (not even Elissa) had the
gutsI mean, bad sense to ask him how he knows what RDA's sphincter looks like? *grins wickedly*no subject
Date: 2008-11-10 11:42 pm (UTC)Dan Shea was *so* hilarious. Gah. I wish I had a video of him. Nope, none of us asked him about RDA's sphincter. I think we were all just too amused by that to really say anything else. And it didn't help that the whole time he kept calling RDA "big boy" or "my boy".
And the volunteering kept Elissa from asking any questions. And it's sad when I made that comment and Mac (one of the other regulars) agreed with me.
