Sep. 21st, 2007 06:38 pmYou know what's addictive? Weight Watchers' message boards.
After unexpectedly losing 4lbs last week, I was like, "You know what? I'm going to keep going with this and see what happens." So I was good - writing things down and tracking my points, drinking my water, going to Curves, all of that. (Note: I doubt my week was "perfect", but I know that this whole thing is a work in progress.)
And I lost another 4lbs this week. Yay!
On top of that, I feel *good*. I have no other way to describe it than saying that I feel good. So, we'll see how this goes.
And I wanted to check out the message boards because I didn't want to do the meetings again, since right now they're still tied up in my parents trying to make me lose weight. And it's fun and I feel more comfortable there than I think I did in a meeting. (On a side note: there was just a thread about whether doing it just online and not going to meetings had worked for anyone and it seems like it has for a few people, so that makes me feel good.)
In other news:
1. My dad has a girlfriend, though I haven't heard him use that term for her. (He's still introducing her as his "friend" and they've been going out since late May.) I've met her twice so far and she's really nice. But you know it's getting serious when one of their dates was to my cousin's birthday get-together.
1a. My dad's cute. I forget what exactly we were talking about, but somehow it came up about having "overnighters" and he started giggling and I told him that I didn't care as long as I didn't get kicked out of my bed. (I really don't care what my dad does, since I know he's not going to do anything stupid. And I don't really want to think about him having sex, even though I know for a fact that he has and that sex, in general, isn't bad.) And it sounds like she's going with him down to the beach next weekend for an "end of summer" bash some friends of my dad's are having.
2. 3:10 to Yuma is a really good movie. You should all see it. It's got Christian Bale and Russell Crowe in it. (And Alan Tudyk's in it!)
3. I've been working my way through the Bond movies and I've seen the first four. I've enjoyed them so far (and have enjoyed laughing at them). And I swear to God, Sean Connery's accent gets more pronounced with each movie.
4. I rewatched Dead Poets Society the other day. I watched it years ago and for whatever reason, I felt like watching it again. OMG, it was a lot angstier than I remembered. And the weird thing is, I knew that certain things happened, but I completely put them out of order and had either forgotten or blocked out about 20 minutes near the end.
4a. One thing that always stuck with me from the movie is Robert Sean Leonard playing Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream - and especially him doing the ending soliloquy.
4b. Dead Poets Society was filmed in Delaware at St. Andrew's.
5. My muse is taunting me.
6. We had our "Man Shower" for Greg, our textbook manager - who's getting married next week. It was a lot of fun and very irreverant.
7. Did I mention how addictive the WW boards are?

Date: 2007-09-24 03:46 am (UTC)He is cute. (Most of the time. There are times when he's a pita, especially about my weight.) At least she's being equal. :-P
LOL. Have fun!
Oh, did you hear that Kate Hewlett's going to be in NJ?
