Iz reddy, Rodney. :-D

We ended up actually not going to the zoo on Friday because of going to get [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess and Vanessa's bag. Which they were obviously thrilled about. (As were [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon and I.) But we did go to the National Cowboy Museum - which was very cool. We didn't get to see all of it because we only had an hour and a half there, but we got through a fair amount and had a great time. (But I am upset that the only thing they had on the Pony Express was one little statue.) And the shuttle was about 45-60 minutes late picking us up.

We did go to the zoo on Saturday, though. (And we came to the consensus that it was a good distraction for Vanessa because this older boy she had a crush on left that morning.) We spent about six hours there and had a great time. It's a really nice zoo. There were a lot of kids there, but they were really well-behaved. It was hot, though. I drank two and a half 20 oz bottles of water and had a medium-ish sized soda and only had to use the bathroom once the entire time. Let's just say that that's really not normal for me. We had to laugh that aside from the sea lions and seals, the most active animals were the Galapagos tortoises and one of the Egyptian tortoises (which was zooming around its terrarium doing laps). The shuttle was an hour and a half late picking us up. We hung out in the room a bit to cool off and get something to eat, then [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess, [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon, and I went in the pool, but we didn't stay very long because there were a lot of kids. We went up to the room and packed some, then watched some vids.

This morning, we got up and had breakfast, then finished packing and checked out. Vanessa's 4-year-old "boyfriend" had left earlier that morning, and had been rather heartbroken and cried, so one of his relatives called him, so Vanessa could say goodbye to him. [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon's mom picked us up and and took me to the airport where we all said good-bye. The flights were pretty easy, though we waited on the Dallas/Ft Worth tarmac for an extra hour because of storms on the east coast. (I flew into Terminal C and out of Terminal A this time.) And on my flight was this guy that looked remarkably similiar to a guy I went to school with. There were a few very subtle differences, but - wow. (I know it wasn't him because I asked.) I read "Coming Home" by [livejournal.com profile] xanthestories pretty consistently from the time I got to the gate in the OKC airport through to being dropped off by my shuttle at my truck and got through about 165 pages of it (almost 3/4 of it). I love that fic (and "General and Dr. Sheppard"). The drive wasn't bad and only took about an hour and a half. I did stop at the Baltimore bus station's McDonald's to get something to eat and a soda, though. (The one where that [livejournal.com profile] connexions has been at.) And I listened to Common Rotation on the way home - which was fun.

I'm feeling mixed right now about being home. Usually by the time I get home, I'm happy to be home and ready to get back into the routine of things. This time, though, I just wanted to cry. I think things have been building up to this, though, over the past few weeks (maybe month and a half?). I'm starting to feel like I don't belong in certain places any more and I don't know what to do. Like, I'm really thinking it's time to get a new job, but I don't even know where to start. *sighs*

[livejournal.com profile] soft_princess and [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon - I'll email you guys the recs stuff. And [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon - I'll write up something to start the McBeck AU once I've had some sleep and post it and we can go from there.

Yay! The bus station has [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess and Vanessa's bag!

So we're going in a few to get it.

Still having lots of fun in Oklahoma.

We just hung out in the hotel on Wednesday. Partly because [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess and Vanessa were still rather tired and partly because we were still trying to figure out what was going on with their bag. (Which we *still* haven't gotten yet. They did put a tracker on it, but we haven't heard anything. We'll probably call again today.) And we had fun watching the SGA season 1 eps "The Rising" and "Hide and Seek". And I shouldn't talk when I'm tired because at one point, [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess, who was laying on her stomach, said, "I have a pillow on my butt," and I replied, "Don't you know it's supposed to be under you?" Which sent us giggling for a good five minutes.

Yesterday we went to the movies to see License to Wed because there had been a thunderstorm in the morning and we had heard it was going to rain the rest of the day (but then it didn't). Parts of it were cute, but overall, I felt were a bit lacking. But [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess, [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon, and Vanessa really liked it. I can't wait to see Dan in Real Life. Then the shuttle was 45 minutes late in picking us up, but we had fun just chatting. When we got back, we went swimming and it ended up being the "After Dinner Children's Hour" in the pool while we were there. [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess, [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon, and I had fun because we were planning a McBeck AU while we were in the pool.

Then last night we watched A Dog's Breakfast. OMG, so much fun! As [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon would say - they win at life. I'm definitely in love with David Hewlett and Paul McGillion now.

Today, we're planning on going to the zoo. And guess what? It's raining this morning. But we've decided that we're going anyway.

And it's really cute - there's this 4-year-old Indian boy who's in love with Vanessa. It's really adorable.

Yay! I'm in Oklahoma!

Well, technically, I've been here for a little over 24 hours, but still.... I'm here. The travel itself wasn't bad aside from having to get up at 3:30 am to be out of the house by 4:00 am to get to the airport on time. And there was a bit of me spazzing out on the way as I followed the signs and then didn't see any for about half a mile or so and me going, "OMG!!!" But it obviously worked out. And I had fun reading fic on my laptop in the airport and then a zine on the plane.

On the way from Baltimore to Dallas/Ft Worth, I sat next to a really nice guy who does linguistics and sounded like Jeff Bridges. (MMM.) In Dallas/Ft Worth, I spent my whole time in the C Terminal. (Remember that, [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley? And they still don't have one hour photo!)

We were a little late getting into Oklahoma City because the flight attendants were late from their other flight and they had to come from the other end of the airport. And then the baggage was slow coming out, but it wasn't horrible.

[livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon and I hung out and talked at her house until mom came home, and then she took us out to dinner. When we came back, we watched vids - which was fun because she had never seen them before.

[livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon was laughing at me this morning because the lack of sleep, plus the insane amount of caffeine I had yesterday, plus the overall excitement has made me a bit loopy. We hung out today and then [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon's friend took us to the bus station to pick up [livejournal.com profile] softprincess and her sister Nessa - who had a bit of an adventure getting down here, but who are here safe and sound. (Yay!) So now we're waiting for our dinner (Papa John's pizza) and [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon's mom to get here, the latter of which so we can go grocery shopping for this week.

I'm so excited!

Okay, so I'm basically set to go to Oklahoma - where I'll be spending the week with [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon and [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess, and her sister. I'm so excited! (Even if I have to get up *way* too early to catch my flight.)

And I got my hair trimmed today - got about two inches taken off. It was getting hot and was at that weird in between phase of still too short to really do anything with, but long enough to get in the way. I think it looks kinda cute.

One of my best friends, Heather, got married today to a really great guy named Chris.

I was in the bridal party - which was a kind of neat experience.

We ended up having the bachelorette party on Thursday and we went to Casablanca's (a Morroccan restaurant) for dinner. The others had never been there, but we had a good time and they all really liked it. Afterwards, we went back to Dawn's (Heather's sister) house.

Friday night was the rehearsal - which went well. Though, Heather didn't want to kiss Chris in front of us, so we teased them a bit. Afterwards, we went back to Heather's grandparents' place for a cookout.

Had to get up early this morning to get my hair done. I told the stylist to just do whatever, since I hadn't had anything in mind aside from wanting it off my face. She pulled it back and made it into a lot of curls. It looked really nice and I pulled out 43 bobby pins tonight (but between them and the hairspray, it held all day so I'm not really complaining). Then we met up at the church to get ready. Dawn and I were starting to get worried because Connie, Chris' mom, still had our dresses. (They weren't ready by Friday night, let alone last Sunday.) But she showed up in time. Dawn did all the girls' make-up. I wore these nice strappy sandals with heels, but they killed my feet, so all the pictures have me with my shoes off. The wedding itself was very pretty and Heather looked gorgeous and it all went great. The picture taking took a while because we did, like, 50 different poses in the church then the wedding party went to an outside locale and took all of our pictures again there too. Another wedding came to the same locale as we were getting ready to leave. Mackenzie, Dawn's 5 year old dauighter, said, "Do we have to do another wedding?" The reception was fun, though, and the food was good. There was even a bit of dancing involved and I got to dance with one of the groomsmen.

But when I got home, I was wiped out.

Tomorrow's going to be a bit crazy with getting things ready to leave at Oh-God-hundred on Monday for Oklahoma. But I know it'll all work out. At this point, I have 1 day, 8 hours, and 59 minutes until the plane takes off.

I've now seen Hot Fuzz for a third time. My dad and I went earlier this past week to see it. (And it surprised me how easily he caved to seeing a movie that he knows a)sod all about and b)I've already seen in the theatre.) But I enjoyed it immensely for the third time and my dad seemed to really like it. I'm *so* buying the DVD when it comes out.

And I had to laugh because there was one point near the end ([livejournal.com profile] libralyte - the part where Danny and Nicholas are wrapped in the blankets) and they *look* at each other and it got a positive grunt from my dad. I swear, between that, my dad being more interested in 300 once the fighting started, and Daniel Craig in a tailored suit getting more of a reaction out of him than the Bond girl in a slinky dress, I have half a mind of saying, "So, is there something you wanted to tell me, then?" the next time he does something like that. After I finish giggling because I think it's kinda cute. (And I wonder if he's even conscious that he's doing it.)

Work's been a bit crazy with the last day of classes being last Wednesday and finals starting on Friday. I'm not really looking forward to the 50 hour work week this week, but it'll get me some nice overtime, which will really help with the trip I plan on taking in July to visit [livejournal.com profile] jacklemmon with [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess and her sister. Plus, I need money for the NJ Creation Con. Can I convince anyone to go with me in some way, shape, or form?

I went over to my mom's last night. She's been rather depressed since the fire. But it seems like she's slowly getting better since they switched her meds and she's finally going back to work this week. We watched Infamous (the other Truman Capote movie) - which I had kinda wanted to see, since it looked good and I had heard really good things about it - and I knew my mom would like it, since she loves true crime. And it was *really* good. The cast was just amazing. I think you should all see it. And to sort of quote [livejournal.com profile] libralyte said - "[Daniel Craig played a convicted murderer] and I wanted to stick my tongue down his throat."
