May. 24th, 2004 11:35 amDeciding that it would be a good idea for me to watch Ride With the Devil yesterday because it deals with Confederate Irregulars out West during the Civil War because I had to write up my pre-Civil War U.S. History take home final yesterday actually was, in fact, not a good idea.
I watched most of the movie, but got bored about half an hour from the end, and I'm surprised that I got that far. Now, I don't mind watching movies that are sympathetic to Confederates. In fact, it might be good if there were more of them out there. But with this movie - I could see the plot, but it was tissue paper thin and I just. didn't. care. I was never really given a reason to care about any of the characters, not that the actors didn't try - but I'm blaming it on the script.
And then I had a weird dream last night where I was in a movie about the Civil War, but details are fuzzy.
Have two more paragrahs to go, and I'll be done my take home.
