Apr. 27th, 2004 12:21 amDecided to do some general commenting in a regular post instead of individually, since it seemed like I'd be saying much of the same to most of you.
This is probably one of those times where, for me, the end has to justify the means. I'm definitely pro-choice (but leaning towards pro-life, just because I know a number of couples that can't have children of their own and have, or would like to, adopt; but I know that it's a woman's right to be able to choose and I'll definitely stand up for that). As soon as I feel I can, I'll pro'ly bail anyway. (And until thien, I'm going to live in denial land and pretend all of my money is part of the other 90%.) And I'm definitely with you all on the 'not contributing to a company I don't agree with unless I absolutely have to.'
I think it's gotta be muscle mass too, because that's the only thing that I can think of that would cause this much gain. It just surprised be because it happened so quickly. I had always just figured that it was adding on as I went along, and that was why I wasn't losing weight quickly, even though I've been losing the inches.
And like
justhuman said, it isn't necessarily about losing X pounds (though that is kinda necessary right now). I do feel a lot better and it helps a lot with stress, so that's incentive enough to keep going and the weight will come off in time. (Though, I wish my family would understand that.)
Thanks for the tip,
nakedwesley, I'll definitely try drinking more water. :-D
And
treebee - the rant was meant with lots of love and basically went along the lines of, "I applaud you guys for cancelling your memberships, since you don't agree with the company, but considering how big it is, how much good is it going to do aside from clearing your own consciouses? If you really want to do something, you should do something a little more proactive."

Date: 2004-04-27 09:08 am (UTC)Yep, it makes sense. :)
And, trust me, I didn't take it personally. I'm pretty laid back about the whole thing at this point, I was just curious as to what you considered being "proactive".
Have a great day! :)
