gym bunny update

I think I'm, like, the one person on lj that doesn't think that Curves is the spawn of Satan and must therefore die (or be vanquished or something).
I want to write up a rant about this, but I think my thoughts are too unfocused right now to say anything really coherent, let alone meta about the whole thing. My luck it would just turn into a wank and where would we all be then? :-P
In any case, I'm staying with Curves because so far it's working and I'm happy with the one I go to. (Evilness of the founder aside.)
And onto the update (for those of you who may actually be interested):
I lost a total of 3 inches in various places since last time (March 17th), so yay there. But have somehow managed to gain 8 pounds. WTF?!?!?!?
I know I haven't been eating quite as well as I should and have missed a lot of time because of Spring Break and going to Connexions, but I haven't been doing *that* badly. My eating and lack of going can only explain maybe 2 or 3 pounds (at most) as far as I can figure. And the thing is, I don't feel like I put on weight.
The only explanation I can even remotely think of is that my body suddenly registered the muscle weight that I've been building over the past few months, but that doesn't seem to totally fit either.
This is mucho weird.
(And, no, my period, which may start next week, can't be factored into this. I never retained water prior to my period and if I did, it was never enough to make any difference.)
