So, I was chatting on MSN last night like I do basically every night with a bunch of my friends while I was also checking my email, reading fic, finishing up homework, doing the normal stuff. Then all of a sudden, one of those little tan maintenance dialogue boxes pops up in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. (If you have Windows XP, you know what I'm talking about.) I didn't think too much of it at first, figuring it was just a 'hiding unused icons' or something, and went to X it out. I quickly read it as I did so and it said something to the effect of "Local Access Disconnected, please check wires" or something. So I thought, 'Huh. I'll check that later." So I X-ed it out and a moment later, my AOL IM goes off and so does the MSN IM. And I can't get back on. I check my IE, and can't get onto the internet there either. I checked all the wires in the back of the hard drive and going into the internet box and everything seemed to be fine, so I tried it again. Nothing. I must've checked the freakin' wires about four or five times and the internet was gone.
Why does this stuff always happen to me? I know that I'm on the computer more than my dad or brother, but still.... I had downloaded a song off of KaZaa Light maybe an hour or two prior, but everything seemed okay there (and nothing had ever happened with the 30 or so other mp3s that I've ever downloeded). And I also downloaded a songvid at about the same time, and everything seemed to be okay with that as well. (And I've downloaded about seven or eight of them since I got back from ConneXions and everything's been fine.)
Grr. Argh.
And I also got my rejection letter from PTTP, the theatre grad program I had applied to, yesterday. Which I'm not actually as upset about as I thought I would be, even though I've been seriously planning on going there for the past few years. Maybe it's just stress from the boatload of stuff I have to do for my classes. I do feel kinda relieved, though. I've always been pretty good with rejection, it's just the waiting period until I find out that kills me.
So, it's kinda like, "Okay, God, where's my window?"
On a positive note - tonight's my church's Maundy Thursday service. ("Well, duh," since it is Maundy Thursday, right? :-P) And I'm going to be singing in the cantata with the rest of the choir. Then, hopefully, I'll be able to meet up with some friends after the quick rehearsal for Sunday that's after the service for some ice cream. And I'll be able to give a friend of mine her birthday present then. (Her birthday's not until Tuesday, but things will be busy until then and I'm not sure if I'll be able to see her on Sunday.)
I think there was another good thing, but now I can't remember. Darn.
