So what is the plural of apocalypse?

I don't know what made me think of it today, but for some reason I thought of the scene where Riley's telling Buffy how things have changed since he found out she was the Slayer and one of the things that he says is "I want to know what the plural of the word apocalypse is" (or something to that effect). So I looked it up, and apocalypse doesn't have a plural form.

Okay, I'll stop rambling now.

This is because when the apocalypse happens, there won't be anything afterwards. It's truly unique that way. Only one of 'em.

Which is probably a good thing in the long run.

This is very true. But after watching "Buffy" and "Angel" for so long, one's gotta expect that there's at least the *possibility* of survival. :-P

This is very true. *sigh* Too bad the shows themselves don't seem to be able to survive.

And yes I'm bitter. Unless some other channel picks up Angel or the WB changes what passes for its mind,life is just going to be so dull next season.

I looked up the word in a three-volume dictionary (if something isn't in that big ass thing, it doesn't exist). And apocalypse does have a plural: apocalypses.

Other dictionaries are just stupid, I guess.

Apocalypses. Just add an s at the end.

Three volume dictionaries are the bomb. They don't have to worry about saving space. Though why the other freakin dictionaries couldn't print -s to show the plural is beyond my understanding.
