Jan. 25th, 2004 11:55 pmGot to spend the day with
libralyte, which was lots of fun, since I haven't seen her in about 5 or 6 months.
We saw Return of the King - my second and her third time. I still love it and think it's my favorite of the three. Am now also convinced of the canon of Faramir/Pippin. Something's gotta be said for a hobbit pulling a man he doesn't know and who's twice his size out of a burning pyre.
And I absolutely *adore* the sound team for their work. The original score, the effects, the editing - it was great. I think this is the only time I've cried twice in the same place (let alone in the same movie) - both times during the scene with Pippin's song and where Faramir and his men are riding to Osgilith. I don't think it would be hardly as powerful there without the sound. Howard Shore deserves that Golden Globe for his score.
Since RotK is now out and I don't have as much of a reason to pimp it any more (well, aside from the whole, "buy the extended edition!"), I have found another movie that I think I'm going to try to pimp. It's called Brokeback Mountain and it appears that it's going to be directed by Ang Lee and starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall.
My other current movie pimpage is The Passion of the Christ, which will be in theatres on February 25, 2004. And I've found trailers!
