So I got new lenses for my glasses this afternoon. The prescription isn't much different than my old lenses, but it's enough to make things a little blurry. The problem is my right eye is still a bit blurry. I think it must be because my eyes were so used to focusing one way and since the new lenses aren't much different, my eyes are confused about how much they have to focus. Hopefully a night of sleep will help. If not, I'll go back to the optometrist tomorrow and see if they can fix it.

I don't know if I've commented this here before, but I'm totally convinced now that "Smallville" is a metaphor for being gay. I had the vague notion of it in previous seasons, but I was sure of it in this season's episode "Extinction". Being a mutant is the equivelant of being gay, but Clark is probably bi, since he's an alien - which is different than being a mutant.

And also this week's episode reminded me of the "Buffy" episode "Normal Again", but reversed. Like, in "Normal Again", the safe reality was the psych-ward one because there weren't vamps, demons, etc, and her parents were still together. On the other hand, in "Shattered" - the Smallville reality is the safe one - even if Lex has problems with his dad, things are still good and he's loved and accepted there.

This idea came to me yesterday (Thursday) after watching "Destiny". What if Lindsey isn't really Lindsey? I know that on a number of lists the theory's been floating around that Eve is really an AU manifestation of Lilah since Lilah herself would be too risky there and the Fang Gang needs a connection to the Sr. Partners and some have even called her Lilah-lite. So it wouldn't be too far to assume that maybe the same thing happened with Lindsey as well - especially since we don't know exactly how much was rewritten? And I forget exactly what Eve was saying about how hard it was to put the universe out of whack and all, so I was thinking that if Eve really is an alternate manifestation of Lilah (or Lilah-lite, or whatever you want to call her), maybe this Lindsey is really Lindsey-lite or something. And what if because of all the mojo that's been used to do the mind-wipe and throwing things out of whack, maybe part of it messed Lindsey up since he's still alive (whereas Lilah's dead, so it probably wouldn't mess her up as much, if at all) and it ripped out part of his essence or something? And he shows up at Wolfram & Hart with no memory of who or what he is and things like that.

And the Fab Five were on "Jay Leno" tonight and Thom was all over Carson. It was kinda cute. They were asked the question "What can't you live without?" Somehow Kyan didn't get to answer, but Carson said cashmere socks, Jai and Thom said their cell phones and Ted said his husband Barry, who he's been with for 10 years.
