sam_gamgeeHad a good day at the beach today with my dad. He was actually fairly well-behaved, which surprised me. The main downside is that even with applying sunscreen and sitting under the umbrella most of the time when I wasn't in the water, my rosacea still flared up, so my face is red and feels really hot.
Aside from being on the beach for a while, we also played three games of air hockey and my dad won 2-1 (all three games were close). And we played a game of mini-golf.
And all day, my dad kept commenting on how beautiful a day it was, or how gorgeous an evening and on the way back to the truck, I was tempted to say, "I do not think that means what you think it means," but I know the Princess Bride reference would've been lost on him.
On the way down, we listened to Christian Kane's The House Rules album. (My dad loves country.) After the titular song, we had this exchange:
Dad: "Is this all country?"
Me: "Yeah."
Dad: "And you like it?"
Me: "Yeah."
Dad: "Good. And you can get me this for my birthday."
