So my dad's date went really well and they had a really good time and they might do it again in the future. And that's all I really got out of him, which is cool. He seems really happy, so... It was funny because my grammy (his mom) called while he was out to see if he was going to do something for them tomorrow and when I told her where he was, she was like, "Oh. Good for him, it's about time."

I've had this song stuck in my head lately and I don't know the title or who sings it. The first part of the chorus goes "Why can't you and I get together? / We could be together forever" and it's sung by a guy. Has anyone heard it?
