Aug. 24th, 2010 11:31 pmGrr. My left shoulder's hurting and I don't know why. It's even more of a pain in the ass because I'm left-handed and I go to do something and then get reminded. I did finally break down and take a tylenol a few minutes ago, in the hopes I'll be able to get some good sleep.

23. How long does it usually take you to complete an entire story—from planning to writing to posting (if you post your work)?
Honestly, it depends.
If it's for a bigbang or some other sort of ficathon, it'll be a few months. (Though, remembering to post it to my own places, once we're given the 'all clear' can take a while b/c I tend to forget.)
If it's something I'm doing on my own, it could take a lot longer. At least between the coming up with the idea and starting to plan it. (I like jotting down the idea and letting it sit for a while and then if I'm still excited about it, I'll put it in my 'to write' list.) Once I start planning, I take about a week or two to plan, then a month or so to write, then let it sit for a few days, then go back and proof and edit, then some time for someone else to beta it, then a day or two to edit it once I get it back, then I post it. So, really 2.5-3.5 months? Ish? Though, like I said, I have all sorts of ideas jotted down that I have for a while before I start writing them.
