eternalmusings and luvxander.
We hung out for the most of the first part of the day. And we watched Kick Ass - which I enjoyed. (Though, I have to wonder at everyone getting pissed that "an 11-year-old said 'the C-word'" and seemed to completely ignore the fact that she was doing all that violence and having it done to her.)
Tonight, we went to Wolf Trap for a picnic dinner and then a concert with Idina Menzel and Marvin Hamlisch with the National Symphonic Orchestra. It was awesome. The first half of the concert was music of shows with great female characters - such as Gypsy, Mame, Annie Get Your Gun, "Memory" from Cats. Then, the second half was Idina doing a number of songs from Rent, Wicked, a few other places, and a couple that she had written herself. It was a surprise forluvxander, so he didn't know about the concert until we gave him the ticket right before we went in.
