Jul. 19th, 2003 11:59 pmToday was good. Had the day off. (Yay!) And I found a new show that I love. It's called "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". It's a reality show where these five gay guys, each of which are experts in a certain area, do a makeover on a guy and his home for a certain end. Like one of the repeats tonight was as part of a suprise part for the guy's wife and another was to help a guy with an opening of an art exhibit. It's cooler than I'm probably making it sound.
I don't understand my mom sometimes. We were talking a couple weeks on the phone about how I need to make an appointment to go see a gyno and she offered to make an appointment for me with hers (who is a guy, but I don't have a problem with that), so I said sure. For some reason my mom also wants me to go see her general physician. I'm quite happy with the doctor that I've been going to and I've told her this. So we were talking today and I brought up about making plans to go to the beach for a couple of days right when I got home (well, leaving the following day). I gave my mom a couple of dates and she's like, "Well, we can go (the first two), but we have to be home so you can go see my doctor." I forget exactly how she worded it, but she made an appointment for me to go see her general physician and not the gyno. Her response - "But I thought you wanted to go to her." No, Mom, I *said* I would go to your gyno. (argh!) So I asked her to cancel that appointment and make one with the gyno and she's being very hesitant about doing it. And she's like, "Well, maybe she can do the gyno exam for you as well." It's like, "Mom, what part of 'I don't want to go to your general physician' don't you understand?" I hope we can get this figured out soon.

Date: 2003-07-20 02:31 am (UTC)Parents can be weird. I know I don't understand where mine are coming from most of the time, only for me it's mostly my dad. I wonder if it's another try by your mom to connect with you. Maybe she feels you've got less and less in common. Dunno. I need to find a doctor out here myself.

And just because we have a doctor in common doesn't mean that we're connecting. I mean, how many times do you talk about going to the doctor (unless you're my grandparents)? Who knows.
