So far so good with the new laptop. I think I might've accidentally messed up the setup, since I don't have any desktop icons, but everything else works, I've been able to access everything, and the top bar is working with my mild OCD, so I'm not worried...yet. But Vista and the other new stuff is going to take some getting used to.

I'm going up to libralyte's tomorrow and spend the day with her, then she, lixta, and I are going to see a live production of Rocky Horror.

I think this ad for V would've been *so* much better if they'd cut it off at about 0:16 and ended with a white screen with something like "ArriVing Tuesday, November 3rd at 8pm".

You suggestion would have been MUCH stonger, better ad, but I feel the editing hand of marketing... "People won't understand... you have to tell them more.".... This forst half of the ad does make me excited to see the new series....

Yeah, and I totally get that about the marketing department. But instead of making me think "Ooh, I wonder who these people are that are going to do all these good things for me/us", by the end, I have this vaguely unsettled feeling (because, you know, alien space ships are *never* good) and I'm not sure I want to know.

Good luck with the new laptop. I've got to dabble my toes in those waters fairly soon. My poor old desktop is just sooo old. And I'm stuck here in the middle bedroom/computer room and the TV is up front in the living room. That's no fun! *grin*

Yay for the live show of "Rocky Horror"! I saw it here in Winston a couple of years ago and that production totally rocked.

I agree - I'm excited that Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk are in it.

So far so good with it, though I'm still learning the new quirks of Vista and saying, "Why isn't...?" a lot until I figure it out. :-)
