Jul. 2nd, 2009 11:56 pmTonight at Cheryl's, we had a good example of being careful of setting off fireworks yourself. Some of the guys had gotten bottle rockets, roman candles, and morters. One of the morters didn't go off right and flew past me, slightly winging me on the thigh, and exploded on the porch. And my first thought wasn't, "OMG! I just got hit!" but "OMG! I think the porch is on fire!" Thankfully, the porch wasn't on fire, it was just a lot of smoke.
The rest of the fireworks went off just fine and by the end of the night, Cole, Cheryl's 2-year-old grandson, "We need more fireworks!" (He was watching from inside.)
