Apr. 10th, 2009 11:56 pmI watched a *really* good movie tonight called Save Me. It stars Chad Allen and Robert Gant. The IMDb synopsis says, "A sex and drug addicted young man who is forced into a Christian-run ministry in an attempt to cure him of his 'gay affliction', where instead he is faced with the truth in his heart and spirit." I think it's a fair look at both sides of the coin and think everyone should check it out.

In other news...you know it's getting near the end of the season when the shows start delivering the really good episodes. In this case, I'm talking about House and Chuck.
Kutner's suicide was definitely a shock. (I know it was supposed to be, but - wow.)
I really liked how they all tried to work through their grief as they dealt with their case in different ways. House tried to figure out why. Foreman dealt with it by himself. Thirteen didn't deal with it. And Taub buried himself in his work until he had to deal with it. And I found the episode to be rather cathartic for me, since usually at the end of the episode, I still feel incomplete about it.
And I was suprised with myself because I was good until Foreman and Thirteen moved to help carry the coffin out of the temple, then I started crying and cried until the end of the episode. (Usually I'm in a state of shock, but don't cry.) And I was about to stop when Taub broke down and I started again.
And I hate that part of the fandom's going, "OMG!!! They killed him off because he's Indian!" GET. A. GRIP. Kal Penn wanted to leave! While I prefer his character was written out a different way (like everyone else), this is how the writers decided to do it. Get over it! And they did it in such a way that it was a damn good hour of television too.
I love that they cast Scott Bakula as Orion/Stephen Bartowski. Sure, he's got the geek cred with doing "Quantum Leap" and "Enterprise", but those shows aside, it just worked like whoa in my opinion. Granted, I wanted to cuddle Stephen for most of the episode, but....
Also? I think I've fallen in love with Casey. And not because he agreed with Chuck and backed him up on a few things. I think it's more in all the little things Adam Baldwin does. The body language, the line delivery, the facial expressions. I have a feeling that if it was any other actor, I wouldn't love him nearly as much.
