Apr. 5th, 2009 11:59 pmI've really got to learn to leave my singles' meeting earlier than I've been. At least tonight I left before ten, but having to come home, shower, take care of Patch, etc still throws me off.
But it was fun because Melissa brought her "newest roommate" with her - her Dr. Frank-N-Furter doll from Rocky Horror. And somehow she ended up showing the others some of the vids on YouTube of Hugh Jackman's range as an actor with showing the Wolverine trailer and his number with Sarah Jessica Parker at the Tonys a few years ago.
And I some fun shorting out Dawn's brain by showing her a vid of James Marsden singing in "Ally McBeal", since she only knows him as Cyclops.
******
I also finished season 2 of "Due South" today. I love that show so much. And I'm surprised that I really don't remember anything aside from the penultimate episode of season 1 ("Victoria's Secret") and a scene from season 2. Since I am pretty visually oriented, it's amusing how much I don't remember from it.
And I saw the one scene I clearly remember from when I originally watched the show. It's from the episode "Red, White, or Blue" (2x17). Fraser's in his apartment and Ray's at his house and they're arguing without actually talking to each other.
And knowing the little bit that I do know about seasons 3 & 4, it makes the season 2 finale that much sadder, since it's a clip show. Though, seeing Fraser with amnesia was *fantastic*.
Since I can't help myself, here's the scene:

Date: 2009-04-06 11:58 am (UTC)I need to pick a slashy episode of Due South to bring to
But, I don't think that it shows the show to it's best slash potential. What's you're slashiest Ray V episode? I've just started working my way back through Ray V and the ones that come to mind are not the best to show off the slash to the uninitiated. -- I think Victoria's Secret is very slashy when Ray is pining for Fraser and when Fraser chooses the girl, it is incredibly slashy that a) there *was* a contest and b)Ray is crushed. But maybe not the best representation of slash since, you know, all the sex with the girl ;-)
Now that you mention it, I'm remembering Red White or Blue - I'll be watching that again soon :-)

Letting Go, the season 1 finale, is up there, because Fraser and Ray are working things out after the whole Victoria "thing".
North - season 2 premiere - Ray and Fraser are going to fix up Fraser Sr's cabin and the plane crashes and Ray has to take care of a paralyzed Fraser.
Some Like it Red is fun if for nothing else than Paul Gross in drag and Fraser and Ray dancing together.
Red White or Blue was definitely pretty slashy, in part because of that scene and in general with the two of them making up for most of the episode.
Flashback - the one after it - it kind of slashy too, in the sense of Ray V taking care of Fraser while he's suffering from the amnesia, even if Fraser's rather OOC for the episode.
Hope that gives you at least a few episodes to think about. If those don't work for you, let me know and I'll see what else I can come up with.
I need to find some due South icons now!

Date: 2009-04-07 10:27 am (UTC)well, yes :-D
Letting Go
This has always been near the top of my slashiest episodes, but I think it needs the context of Victoria's Secret to let all the slash show.
I started with Red White or Blue and Flashback last night and then moved back to the beginning of S2 to North - and yes, everything you say.
I'm leaning towards North because while we do have the weird circumstances as opposed to standard-operating Fraser/Ray :-) I'll check out Some Like it Red tonight :-)
