Definitely stayed up waaay too late last night (2 am). I decided it would be a good idea to catch up on "Kyle XY" and "Dollhouse" (one episode each). And for the most part, it was - since they were both good episodes. There's just so many little things that I absolutely adore about "Kyle XY" and that I'm going to really miss. And while I'm not totally in love with "Dollhouse", it's slowly growing on me. (And I've realized a personal bulletproof kink is a Russian accent.)

In tonight's tv viewing, I watched "Chuck" on tv again - which I think I kind of like doing. And Robert Picardo was in it! And I have to admit that I liked Barker.

I'm really enjoying this volume of "Heroes" so far. (Though, I will admit that I prefer Mohinder's stupidity to Nathan's.) And I had to laugh that one of the Nerd Herders and a Green Shirt from "Chuck" were in the comic book shop. And all the stuff with Sylar was pretty fantastic.

And I watched "Castle" and absolutely loved it. I like that Nathan got to be playful with the role, as well as serious. (And I'm thinking [livejournal.com profile] eternalmusings might have to put up with me saying how much I love the costuming department. I hardly ever say anything about clothes and tonight I mentioned three things to her.)

I really enjoyed Castle last night. First, because Nathan is a master of the playful rogue, which makes his moments of earnestness so much more startling. And then to give him a daughter who's arguably more adult than he is and a flamboyant mother just allows for so many possible depths and angles. And for once the "strong female detective" is done pretty much right. I like that she's strong without being a bitch and is aware of and comfortable with being a woman. She wasn't afraid to play up her sexuality as a way of deflating Castle and I really liked that. I'm looking forward to next week.

Of course, seeing Nathan on my TV again means I pretty much HAVE to watch all of Firefly all over again. *sigh* What a tragedy...

He really is a master at that and I'm glad we're getting to see it. And, imo, it's startling not just because it's so different than what you're expecting, but also because he's so good at it. And I'm liking the rest of the characters so far too. It should be interesting to see how the rest of the show goes.
