Jun. 12th, 2003 11:41 pmRandom question of the day for those of you who watch "Angel" - what kind of dad do you think Lindsey would make?
Spent most of the day today down in the rehearsal room recording a rough copy of what the Jonathan - the violinist/composer (or is it composer/violinist?) was doing for The Glass Menagerie. While it was kind of long, it was still fun. Lots of giggling and jokes and whatnot. And I'm almost totally convinced now that the violin is a very cool instrument. The cast is really nice too.
Started reading that Dracula story, Regina. Only up to chapter 9, but very entertaining. And how said is it that every once in a while, I can actually "hear" Keanu's voice and see his mannerisms?
*Sigh* Really need to write. Maybe I'd actually have a fighting chance if this computer wasn't so slow loading pages. Well, that shall be my focus tomorrow instead of reading fic.
And I got some mail today! Yay! I got a little card from my Grammy. :0) And from my dad I got an article that was on one of the U of D pages that I was quoted in (which he had also emailed me and the rest of the family a link to, so go figure). He also sent me my 3rd film paper, R. I got another 23. So how much you want to bet what your score was? :0P

Lindsey? A Dad?
Date: 2003-06-13 04:01 pm (UTC)Dads need to be decent role models...and Lindsey...um...Evil? Yes, I know he chose not to continue the Evilness in the end but, man, does he have excellent Evilness Credentials.
I dunno. He also seemed awfully self-involved which is also not a great Dad-type quality.
A very snackable love-biscuit? Heck yeah...as long as no one asks me to trust him.
A Dad? I don't so much think so.
Gack, I'm rambling yet again.
One more thing: yes, the violin is a very cool instrument. And the very devil to learn to play (and I still intend to find myself a new teacher).
I'm glad you're having fun. Fun=goodness.
bye

Date: 2003-06-13 05:00 pm (UTC)Yes, it is. I played it for a year in 4th grade and then for some reason switched to the clarinet in 5th grade. And definitely find a new teacher! Just because he's said he's going to tell the other teachers, doesn't mean they're going to listen.
Re: Lindsey? A Dad?
Date: 2003-06-15 07:13 pm (UTC)You asked what kind of a father we thought he'd be...my answer: not the greatest.
I know, mob bosses and assorted criminals, etc, *can* be fathers. I tend to think that they aren't the kind of father I'd want to have, though. Maybe it's the difference between just fathering children in the biological sense and *being* there for them in the emotional sense. I dunno.
Still, I don't think of fatherhood when I think of Lindsey. *grin* Ya gonna change my mind? Write it...I bet you can change my mind for me!
going now...headache...bleh

Date: 2003-06-15 08:44 pm (UTC)True, they pro'ly aren't the fathers that we'd want to have, but I still think that they could be as good to their kids as our dads were, and still be as shady as Hell.
And I am definitely going to try to change your mind! As soon as I a) finish the Gunn/Giles fic, b) do some research on Scottish folklore and other assorted stuff for my next fic, and c) get out my other tapes w/ Lindsey and possibly bring them back with me after I go home July 4th weekend.
I have just considered myself challenged! :0)
