This is one of those times when I hate having a pretty flexible schedule.

So, my dad and grandparents have been away for the past week on vacation and they're coming home tonight. I've been holding down the fort at my dad and my place and checking in on my grandparents' place (along with a neighbor who's getting in their mail) and watering my granddad's garden.

My mom and John went away this past Saturday for a week and my brother's been watching their place. Well, my brother decided that since he has today and tomorrow off, he wants to go to the beach.

Guess who's going over to my mom's place tonight to spend the night? (And I didn't exactly have the option of saying no. Grr.)

I would've gone over tomorrow night too, but when my mom called me (from Cancun! and upset that I hadn't called her back because I hadn't checked the house messages - where she never calls me!), she was upset that I wasn't going to be spending the night at her house tomorrow night, because I have to take care of my dog as well and my dad's going to be down at his girlfriend's tonight and tomorrow night. So, she's going to have John's sister come and pick up the dog, since "he's never been home alone."

My question is this - John's sister and her family live two blocks away. Why couldn't they be taking care of the house?

To know my family is to love them. Or something like that.
