May. 12th, 2008 11:53 pmIt rained again today. Bleh. Apparently, it didn't rain enough on Friday.
On the upside, it did help the day go by a little faster, since you couldn't really tell how much time had past and all of a sudden, it was time to go home.
I headed straight over to Panera for the
de_writers May meeting. (Since it was decided that going into Newark on Cinco de Mayo wasn't necessarily the best idea.) This time I was good and started writing right away instead of getting dinner first. The upside to this is that I got my 1050 words in before the meeting started. The downside was that I didn't get the soup I wanted (tomato - which has been my favorite ever since I was little), but the baked potato soup was just as good. And we did have a good time hanging out and chatting (and probably doing every don't and not doing every do out there for a "successful" writing group, but I think we've got the important stuff down - we're supportive, we have fun, we do "check in" and see how everyone else is doing, and we're willing to help each other out).
I also got some revisions done on some previous parts.
And I know this won't mean anything to anyone aside from my beta, who doesn't even read my lj, but it feels odd knowing that I'm done the last full part of Rodney in Lapras and soon he'll be back in Atlantis. This is just insane. (Especially given how much I haven't been writing prior to this fic.)
And, *shakes head*, you have to love my dad. He calls me about 5:30 and after asking me what time I think I'll be home, he says, "I'm going to the grocery store, is there anything you would like?" and I tell him to get me some more of the granola bars in the closet and that I think we need bread. He calls me back about 7:30 and tells me that I need to stop on the way home to get bread "because Pepperidge Farm store is closed." I rolled my eyes and told him I would. Last I checked, the grocery store sells bread too. (And I understand that we can get the bread we like for cheaper from the Pepperidge Farm store, but still....)
