Apr. 27th, 2008 02:47 pmWell...fuck.
First, when I got home from Panera and the grocery store, my dad tells me that my maternal grandfather called and he's got to have a double-bypass next week so that he can then have an operation done to deal with a cancerous mass from his colon.
The backstory on the second thing is that my laptop's adapter's been a bit wonky at Panera (both of the ones I go to) for a while, so I didn't think much of it today when I went and I made sure to take the extra battery as well. As I suspected, the adapter didn't work, so I happily used my battery as I watched an episode of "Kyle XY" and then did my writing for the day, switching the batteries when needed and figuring I'd charge them both when I got home.
Well, I got home and plugged in the adapter and now it's not working! *grr* So I've just ordered a new one and picked next day shipping with an esd of 5/1. Hopefully it'll be as speedy as my battery. (And if not, 5/1 isn't that far away.)
*SIGH*
