sam_gamgeeHere are a couple of things I forgot to mention yesterday. (Plus, today's a slow news day.)
We sang "The Reason" by Hoobastank in our contemporary service at church. This amused me to no end.
Cheryl, my dad's girlfriend, is meeting my grandparents tomorrow. That's, obviously, serious business. How it got decided that they'd meet tomorrow isn't.
My grandmother told me at my birthday that she was a little upset that my (maternal) aunt and uncle (who my dad's still really close with) and the majority of my dad's friends had met Cheryl, but they hadn't. So, a couple days later, when the subject comes up, I tell my dad what my grandmother told me.
So my dad thinks about it for a minute and responds with, "Maybe I'll see if she'd like to come for Thanksgiving. Her kids are going to be with their dad and Grammy always makes more than enough food."
And I responded with, "Dad, you can't have their first meeting be on Thanksgiving."
And my dad's looks at me confused and asks, "Why not?"
And I replied, "Because you just can't. They need to meet her before Thursday."
And my dad, still confused, is like, "Oh."
But my dad goes ahead and makes the plans with my grandmother for Cheryl to come to Thanksgiving dinner. And, as he's talking with friends over the next few days, this comes up and they all agreed with me. And my dad's becoming more mystified that he didn't know this and slowly gets a clue. So, they're all going to dinner tomorrow night so they can meet before Thanksgiving.
*Has to laugh* Pandora just played "I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Pandora (http://www.pandora.com) is a free online music player. You put in a song or artist and it'll play similar music. And they have all sorts of stuff in it. It's very cool.

You're welcome. And it's also nice because it's got that...uh...responsive programming? *furrows brow* Whatever it's called where it "learns" from what you tell it. It's very cool. I <3 it very much.
