John wasn't sure how the head of a world-famous scientific laboratory would feel about interacting socially with his caterer, especially in the company of his peers. McKay might be annoyed or, worse, irritated by John's forwardness, and John couldn't afford to piss this man off. McKay made the decision for him, coming up with a plate full of meatballs and enthusing, "These meatballs are fantastic."
These next couple are WIPs, but they seem to be updated pretty regularly.

AKA 'the skating fic'. An utter self-indulgent cliche. John's a rebellious figure skater who after twelve years of competition has one last shot. Rodney's the former World Champion, shattered by defeat (can't you just hear the Olympic theme song?) who can make it happen. But first....
