This probably won't interest anyone aside from me and
mlyn, but Grotto's (a local pizzaria) got some new arcade games - and they're for The Fast and the Furious. Among the options are Brian's two cars (obviously) and Dom's Charger.
Went to the mall today to get seasons 6 and 7 of SG-1 and also ended up getting seasons 8 and 2 (because I didn't get it the first time I had ordered it) since they were doing a "buy one tv box set and get one free" sale.
I just finished the season 5 episode "The Warrior", which I liked. But I think my favorites so far this season have been "Wormhole X-treme" and "Proving Ground". (And, as an aside, I thought "Last Stand" was a good closer to Martouf/Lantash, even though I'm still pissed about that whole subplot.)
And, after watching some more SGA episodes yesterday, I've realized why I'm having trouble getting into it so far. For some odd reason, SGA feels like Star Trek to me, while SG-1 feels like Firefly. I am starting to get into SGA, but SG-1 feels like that comfy shirt that fits just right and might even have a stain or two, but that's okay. I am starting to see the McShep more, and I love Zelenka and Carson, and I love the fact that John is smart enough to pass the MENSA test, but decide not to join.
Just as an fyi to
eternalmusings,
luvxander (if he's on tonight), and
betagoddess - I'm house sitting until Wednesday night (not quite sure what time I'll be home), so that's why I wasn't on to chat last night, nor will be on until (possibly) Thursday. (Though, I might be on Wednesday night, depending.
And, Michelle, since I'm planning on finishing season 5 tonight, here's a premptive "OMG!" about the penultimate episode, even though we both know that I'm aware of what's going to happen.
Okay, now I'm off to finish season 5 of SG-1.

Date: 2006-04-02 05:10 am (UTC)For me, it's SG-1 I have trouble keeping up with. Maybe there's too much mythology I'm supposed to follow. That and the fact I never manage to watch the eps in order. Maybe someday I can borrow your dvds, or we can have a marathon session when next we get together. (I just remembered the other day that you have my S&H dvds. I'd forgotten all about it.)
My fave ep is probably the Groundhog Day one. It's just so damned funny. I can never remember the title...(looks it up)...Ah, Window of Opportunity. I still haven't seen any of the Rodney ones, which is just silly, since I downloaded them ages ago. *facepalm* Maybe I should do that tomorrow. Hmmm....
Have fun house sitting. :o)

Date: 2006-04-04 09:52 pm (UTC)Yeah, SG-1 does have a lot of mythology to it. But, at the same time, it doesn't take itself too seriously. (You have to love a show that for its 100th episode does a parody of itself.)
I will definitely bring your dvds and your socks back when I see you in May, if we're still on. And we can have a marathon if you want. :-) I should also have the first season of Sentinel by then on actual dvd as well, if we want to watch some of that.
WoO is a great episode. :-D There are a few other great ones too, but those you kind of have to know what's going on to really get them. And a few are great because they showcase Michael Shanks. (Who's *amazing*, by the way.) Yes, you should watch the Rodney ones, because they make SGA much more fun.
I'll try, but it's interesting when you have two large dogs who are afraid of a thunderstorm. :-P
