Yesterday I ended up going to visit some family with my dad and my grandparents. I had been kind of ambivelant about going - not that I don't like seeing them or anything because I do, it's just that part of me was doing the whole, "I'd like to go, but I also want to stay home and get x, y, and/or z done." But I'm glad I went - got to see them, my dad got some pictures of the town that my grandparents grew up in and that he was born in, and I got to see the outside of the house where my great-grandmother lived - who I actually vaguely remember from when I was little. My dad, our cousin, and I also went to this baker who's shop is maybe two blocks over from my Grammy's brother's house, and we got some fresh Italian bread - literally right out of the oven - for lunch.

We also went to Cabela's because my dad and grandfather wanted to look for some fishing lures or something. It's like the Ikea of the outdoorsman. I even had an "OMGWTF! Polar bear!" moment because there was not one, but two polar bears as part of their game display. (And they had a wide variety of animals stuffed and either mounted or on display *all* *over* the place. Plus, an aquarium.)

And then this morning, I had a *very* nice dream, which I'm partly attributing to nakedwesley and her fic. And in the dream I was helping out with this program with Atlantean kids and this one kid in particular to put some peanut butter on a piece of bread. Then John comes over and he's like, "Come here", so I follow him to a more private spot and he starts kissing me. Quite a nice way to wake up.

And I've been *so* suckered into SG-1. I've seen up through the season 3 episode "Shades of Grey" and I've been enjoying it lots.

Still not very far on Atlantis, but that's because Blockbuster.com decided to send me the first disc of Firefly next instead of disc 2 of season 1 of Atlantis. But, on the upside, at least now I'll have my disc back. I had accidentally sent in my copy of Firefly disc 1 back in the beginning of August (which was *seven* months ago), and when I realized what I had done, I got on right away and told them through the "DVD Issues" section what the problem was (using the option of "I sent back a personal disc") and I never heard anything from them. So I put it on my list to see if I could maybe get it back that way. You'd think that if something like this has a possibility of happening, and has done so at least once, then they'd have a way to fix it. But I guess that that would make too much sense.

So I'm hoping to get more SGA soon. But I have liked what I've seen. And especially John and Rodney's excitement over the shield. Rodney, grinning - "He shot me!" John, also grinning - "In the leg."

One of the very most funniest SGA McShep vids is done to the Robin William's genie song from Aladdin, "Friend Like Me" and features just that scene. I've watched it zillions of times and STILL laugh out loud at this vid.
