"Um, Lex? What's this doing here?" Clark asked as he held up a bright red stiletto shoe that looked to be a little too large for the average woman, but that it just might fit Lex's foot.
"What's what doing where?" Lex asked, coming out of the bathroom still tying his bowtie. Seeing the shoe, he said, "Oh, that," and swiped it out of Clark's hand. "A friend of mine from college was in town and we were talking about Halloween and I mentioned our plans and he gave me a few pointers."
"Oh, really?" Clark asked, standing and encircling Lex's waist with his arms.
Lex grinned. "I think we'll be the most original Bonny and Clyde this town's ever seen."
"You bet we will," Clark responded before kissing Lex thoroughly. "Now, about this 'friend'…"
"As I said, Clark," Lex replied, "he's a *friend* from *college*," before kissing him again.

"Honestly, Xander, you've got to do a better job of watching where you're going," Giles said in exasperation as he used a stiletto needle to poke a hole in the side of Xander's eye patch so he could rethread the elastic.
"Yeah, well, that wasn't exactly a priority when I was trying to *save my life*," Xander replied tartly. "If I could do this myself, I would."
"And then we'd have you bleeding out of a thousand little pinpoints," Giles replied as he tied the elastic. "You know, you could just get a better quality patch."
"I know, but this one's still got a bit of life left in it, just like me." He took the offered eye patch and put it on. He kissed Giles quickly on the cheek before standing. "Thanks," he said, as he left.
"You're welcome," he whispered. And Giles thought that he did as well.

Wesley carefully wiped the goop off of the stiletto's blade before resheathing it and placing it in the weapons cabinet before moving on to the axe – about which he was still unsure if it could be salvaged. But he started to clean it anyway, out of habit and out of spite.
"Are you ever going to talk to me again, Wes?" Angel asked and Wesley was pretty sure he could hear the pleading tone in the vampire's voice.
"Maybe," he replied a few moments later without looking at Angel or stopping.
"When?"
Another few moments – "When you think of a suitable way for us to *actually* celebrate Valentine's Day aside from slaying some Nazbit demons."
Angel stopped Wesley when he turned from placing the axe in the cabinet. "And who said that was all I had planned?" he practically growled as he pulled Wesley to him and kissed him deeply.
