I had a really good weekend. Which kinda started on Thursday, even though I had to work on Friday, because I had the day off. And I was *really* glad to have Thursday off, since things kind of came to a head with one of my coworkers on Wednesday.

So, Thursday morning I got up, grabbed my newly acquired copy of Finding Hope by Andrew Barriger and headed to Panera for breakfast. I got a chocolate croissant because I had heard about them and wanted to try one and a caffeine-free diet Pepsi - which just amused me that it was offered in a coffee shop/bakery (but it made me happy because it's a) diet and b) caffeine-free and I've been trying to cut back on my caffeine intake). The croissant was quite yummy and I really enjoyed the book. I ended up staying there for about an hour and a half or so, so I grabbed some vegetarian black bean soup and a sourdough bread bowl on the way out for lunch - both of which were also yummy. After hitting the gym, I went to the university's computer lab to do some stuff for Piek Ric. Hung out the rest of the night and did some knitting and worked on a fic.

I also had to go to doctor's because when [livejournal.com profile] drdeath and [livejournal.com profile] libralyte were down and we went swimming, my ears started acting weird and my right one clogged up pretty tight. After trying practically everything, it kinda went away, but then my left one stuffed up and so I decided to call and make an appointment. Well, they flushed out my ears - which is one interesting experience. One thing that did make it fun/bearable was thinking about Jim having to go through it in "Hear No Evil" ("The Sentinel"). I'm sure they wondered what I was giggling at from time to time. And since I don't have regular insurance right now, my doctor was really cool and only charged me $25 for it.

Friday was good. Don't remember what all I did aside from work and going to the gym, but whatever it was, it was good.

Saturday, got up and went back to Panera for breakfast again and to finish my book - which I did. Seriously, if any of you are looking for some good gay fiction, check out Andrew Barriger's trilogy. Ended up going home again with some more soup and bread as well. On the way home, stopped at the Marine Corps' free car wash (but I did give them a few bucks anyway). Went to the gym again. Did some grocery shopping. Watched the first part of "Band of Brothers" and did some more knitting. Did some more writing.

Sunday, got up and went to church - and it was a good service. (Not that they're usually bad or anything, but this one was just definitely what I needed this week.) Hung out at home for the rest of the day. Watched the second and third parts of "Band of Brothers" and the first hour of the fourth part of "Into the West". Did some more knitting and writing. Did some planning with [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley for when we got to L.A. at the end of the month, including reserving a hotel room for the first two nights and a car for the week we're out there. (And, just as an FYI - if you rent from Midway, you may not want to take the car into Mexico and it needs written permission to go out of the state. :-P)

Monday, back to work. :-( Starting to brace myself for HP #6 on Saturday and am glad I'm not working that day. Not that I expect us to have a lot of people, but.... Went to the gym. Watched part four of "Band of Brothers" and am really enjoying it. I'm not much of one for war movies - unless we're talking about ancient wars. But this one's definitely getting me caught up. Like, when one of the guys got shot tonight, my first thought was "That's not Guarnere or Malarkey, is it?" And I can see [livejournal.com profile] lixta and [livejournal.com profile] libralyte's attraction to Dick Winters.

One of these days, [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess's birthday fic will be done and hopefully, it'll be at least half-way decent.
