This is one of those times when I think that God *has* to have a sense of humor. (Other examples being the platypus and my dog.)

This "Boondocks" comic strip was in the Sunday, January 9th, edition of The News Journal (and, I'm sure, various other papers around the nation). It caused quite a stir and there were many "Letters to the Editor" objecting and saying McGruder was evil and whatnot. Then, finally, a couple people were like, "Calm down. Look at his other comic strips - he does it to *everybody*, including black people. And I'm one of those 'white people' that was depicted and I find no offense in the strip."

And then I see this month's cover of "Running Times" and see the white people running in the snow in shorts.

People were upset about this? I could go into a whole rant with intellectual-sounding words to explain why they shouldn't have a problem with it, but I'll settle for:
I love 'Boondocks' and am amused by it. And yes, I am very white (though NOT A RUNNER). Were runners offended? Or just random uptight people?

Yeah, some were. Which I just don't get because my reaction was basically the same as yours. No, from what it sounded like from the letters - the runners were the ones standing up for McGruder and it was the 'random uptight people' that were all up in arms. Go figure.
