Dec. 27th, 2004 11:47 pmSounds like everyone had a good Christmas.
Went to church Friday night, which was good. I love the candlelight service. :-D
Saturday was fun. My dad, brother, and I got up and opened our stockings before my paternal grandparents came over and we exchanged gifts and had breakfast. Then Chase (that's my brother) and I
went over to my mom's to exchange gifts with her and John (her "new" husband - they've been married for a little over a year) and then the four of us played Cranium (which Chase had given her). After that we went home for Christmas dinner.
Then yesterday we went over to my paternal grandparents' to see some more family and have a lasagna dinner and exchange more gifts.
Thanks to
anaidiana and
drdeath for the Christmas cards!
And many thanks to
lunanne for the card and journal. *snuggles you* It made my day, hon.
My gifts included:
- the new Peter Pan
- RotK EE
- a book of local ghost stories
- some body stuff
- a candle
- gift certificate to a local spa (now I can get that massage I've been wanting)
- money (which I will more than likely use to buy Firefly and other things I didn't get)
- Jeffrey (had originally gotten two copies of Peter Pan, but took one back and exchanged it...wonder what the cashier thought)
- a cellphone
Yes, you heard me right. I now have a cellphone. John had gotten one and had decided to put me and my mom on a group plan as well. Should be interesting, considering how long it took me to set up the voicemail (due in part to Cingular's idiocy and also in part to my own). Will be doing a friends-locked post with the number soon.
Fun bits of conversation with my mother from earlier today:
When she came over to pick me up for the mall (so I could trade in the dvd), she saw the 2005 "Queer Eye" calendar that I had gotten from
eternalmusings and was like, "This is cool. Who got this?" And I was like, "I did." And she was like, "Cool. I like the show." I about died - this is the woman who freaked out a couple years ago when she found out a guy friend of mine was gay and seriously thought that he was going to turn me gay. Will have to talk with her about it some time.
We were talking about QaF and how I wanted to see it and when I said the title, she had me repeat it and then she was like, "Spell the last word." So I did and was like, "What did you think the last word was that i said?" And she was like, "Full." It may not have helped that I was pronouncing "folk" like "foulk", but still...would've thought the k was heard.
