I have a confession to make.

I've been listening to Christmas music on the radio.

I usually wait until after Thanksgiving, and even then do it sparingly for as long as possible so I don't get sick of it, but Friday two stations started playing it. (Well, one I know for sure started playing it Friday. The other one I'm not completely sure about, since I don't listen to it often - only if there's nothing on my presets.)

But it was on and I couldn't help myself and started listening and I've been doing it off and on all weekend and doing the :-D "Christmas is coming!" :-D

So, for the next month-ish, I'll be playing my version of "Christmas Song Bingo" and hoping I'll hear a few Christmas songs I love:
"Last Christmas" by Wham (and the Darren Hayes cover is also acceptable)
"Winter Wonderland" by whoever - I'm not picky
"Same Auld Lang Syne" by Dan Folgelberg
"Little Drummer Boy" by whoever - I'm not picky*
"Carol of the Bells" by whoever - I'm not picky (though extra points if it's the Trans Siberian Orchestra version - also called "Christmas Eve Sarajevo")

And also doing a song dodge on:
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - by everyone (just because someone else has done it, doesn't mean you need to too!)
*"Little Drummer Boy" by David Bowie and Bing Crosby (I'm sorry, but I think this cover sucks)

Ha, it's okay. I usually listen to Josh Groban on Sundays on the way to and from church, rather than the radio. A few weeks ago I wanted to change the cd, but the only other Josh cd in my car was the Christmas album. So I put it in. In October.

I heard Same Auld Lang Syne on the radio last week. I love that song! It's so melancholy.

The one I avoid like the plague is "Christmas Shoes." That song makes me throw up.

Bing? FANTASTIC! David? Not so much! I do like alot of the newer things but I'll always love the very early versions of the classics.

Yeah, I did a little "Christmas in July" and listened to a couple of cds in the middle of the summer.

I really love it too. And it really is a melancholy song.

I'm not there with that one, but I do quickly switch it when it comes on. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" does that for me.

I will agree - Bing is fantastic. And I like a lot of David Bowie's stuff, but this one - not so much. And, yes, early versions of the classics are always great.
