I don't understand why a car magazine feels the need to put a model in a sexy outfit and a sexy pose on the cover of their magazine along with a car.

I feel like they're underestimating their audience by doing that. If you're buying a magazine because of the sexy women, something's wrong, IMO.

Also? Have they never heard of car porn? They can make it work with just cars in the picture.

Yes, but probably not in the way most of us in fandom think of it.

And also? *ponders her phrasing; "And also" seems very redundant* That's a great icon for this post...but what would've also been good would've been, don't you have one of "My fandom gives keys as tokens of affection"?

No, I know. I was thinking of it as in "Oh my God, that CAR! *drools*" (see icon, even though it's not perfect) But yeah: coming from both Sentinel and Starsky & Hutch fandom, cars are themselves sexual beings...especially in S&H, where they're occasionally anthropomorphized WAY past Jim's "Sweetheart"!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've realized that in a lot of shows I watch, the characters' vehicles are characters too. Which amuses me to no end. (As well as the fact that Dodge Challengers are the "villians" and Dodge Chargers are the "heroes".)

You're right and I know you're right. It's just one of those things where I can't help but think, "Fail! You're doing it wrong!" As well as give them at least five ways to do it right - and not one of them including a woman.
