For some reason, we had off today, even though July 4th is on a Saturday this year. (I can count on one hand the rest of the holidays that we get off. Otherwise, we only close for a state of emergency.) And I'm really glad we did - I think I, and everyone else, needed it.
I had a nice, leisurely morning/early afternoon. I impulsively went to Best Buy and bought the deluxe cd of The Block by New Kids on the Block. I also went to the mall and finally bought a new bathing suit. On the upside - I got it for 1/2 off. On the downside - it was still $40. But it looks nice, fits nice, and it's a few different shades of purple with a sort of flowery design on it. And I felt better when I found out that I wasn't the only one buy a bathing suit today.
This afternoon was productive in other ways. I cut the grass and did the laundry. So now the only other "chore" I have to do this weekend is hit the grocery store at some point on Sunday so we'll have lunchmeat and whatever else we need for next week.

I've also started watching "Slings & Arrows". I'm halfway through season 1 and I think I'm going to watch another episode before I go to bed. I'm having fun with it and seeing Paul Gross as something other than Fraser. Also, Rachel McAdams is adorable in this.
And am I the only one who really wants to see a production of Hamlet with Paul Gross in the titular role because of this show?
