So, on Saturday I'm taking part in my churh's "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner". People sign up to either host or to go. The hosts prepare the main dish and everyone else is assigned a part of the meal. You don't know who's going to show up until they do.

I signed up to go somewhere and I was given an address and the assignment for dessert for 6 people. I now have a burning desire to get my church directory and start looking through it and see if I can figure out who's house I'm going to. But, at the same time, I like not knowing and having it be a surprise for when I pull up on Saturday.

Now I just have to go find something to make.

And I feel conflicted. On Sunday, I'm not going with my dad and grandparents to visit some other family and put flowers on graves. I'm not going because of choir (we're actually singing - if we were still doing it every week, I would do the whole, "well, it's every week, so I can skip this one", but with it not being every week, I feel like I should do it). I like spending time with my grandparents and dad (as much as my grammy and dad annoy me) and seeing my family, but I know that my dad and grammy will say something that will piss me off at some point and that'll make the day much less fun. And I know that I'll be bored a fair amount of the day with all of the driving, plus the fact that, due to distance, I don't have as much of a bond with my great-aunts and great-uncle and whoever else shows up, as my dad and grandparents do. (Though, I do enjoy hearing their stories.) So, it's one of those weird, want to go/don't want to go sorts of things where I know I'll feel bad either way.
