I'm at the library right now. Ostensibly (and there's your .25-cent word for the day), I'm here to write (which I *have* been doing). And I have to say - whoever's said that no one goes to the library anymore has never been to mine on a Saturday afternoon. As far as I know, there's no special programming going on today and trying to find a parking space was insane. (Granted, the parking lot isn't very big, but still...when you're driving around in a line of about 5 or 6 cars looking for somewhere to park and there isn't an open space, I'd say it's busy.)

I tell you this because I'm sitting at a table in the science part of the non-fiction section and I happened to look over at the stacks across from me and see a copy of Science Fair Projects for Dummies - which amused me to no end.

And! I'm going to Shore Leave in July! EEEEEE!!! David and Kate Hewlett! Adam Baldwin! mashfanficchick, mirnell, kimberlyfdr, nakedwesley and possibly other assorted people! It's going to be insanely fun! (And nakedwesley - I have a feeling that if I'm not careful, this is going to be a repeat of what happened with Alexis, so I *need* to make sure I have something to David Hewlett and that it isn't "OMG, I love you." :-P)

*crosses fingers* Hopefully the router will be here today. Or I might start calling UPS or something and see what we've done to make them hold the router hostage.

Oh, good Lord, I hope not. But then again, we are talking about David Hewlett. So...maybe? At least this time we'll be prepared.

And part of me's going, "Okay, so it's much cheaper than Creation, but *wibble* I won't have any great bar stories to tell." :-P

Oh, and also - the hotel room's now reserved Thursday night through Sunday night.

Nope, first actor con! :D I've written actors before, interacted with them that way and had nice conversations (debates) with a few, but never met any of them in person. SO EXCITED!!

Actor cons are a blast. (Not that fan ones aren't - we both know that.) But just so you're forewarned, Shore Leave is a bit out there because it's run by (and still largely for) Trekkies. When I went a few years ago, within five minutes of walking in, I saw two Klingon Stormtroopers. But, they're all fen, so they're nice.

And it occurred to me - David's more than likely going to be geeking out too. It'll be fun.

Seriously, the BOBW con videos are my favorite ever. I've had them tagged on my account for a looooooooong time now. It's like an instant pick-me-up. I'm not sure why, but it's just so relaxed and happy and just all around fun :D Between that and "Friiiiiiiiiiday, Saturday, Sunday....that's like three days!" David never fails to make me happy.

D is checking with her boss to see if she can get the time off. I've already put in for that as well. Have we thought at all about upping one of the rooms to a suite? Just a thought.

I was wondering too if Hewlett-mania will rival Marsters-mania. Did you see his (JM's) appearance on Torchwood a few weeks ago? I like the dark hair. Thought he did a great job.

I'm going to put in for the time off tomorrow. I'm debating if I want to take the rest of my vacation then as well or not, since I have nothing else really planned for this year and July's the big time.

*shrugs* I'll put in for that day and figure the rest out later. Since I'm not planning on anything big right now, I'm not too worried about when I take it, as long as I can take it.

I didn't, since we don't get BBC America. But I did see a promo on YouTube and he does look good.
