I was gobsmacked to hear that Heath Ledger had died. I heard it on the radio on the way up to my mom's and thought it was a joke or something. (Though, why they would joke about something like that, I don't know.) It's such a surprise, for me at least, since he was never in the news for things like drinking or drugs (and you know how the media loves reporting things like that and he was enough of a media darling that it would have been reported).
I was never a huge fan of his (not like I am with David Hewlett or Alan Tudyk), but I really liked his work and was definitely a fan. Which makes me wonder why the news hurts so much.
