sam_gamgeeI did something tonight I never thought I'd willingly do.
I shoveled both my driveway and the neighbors' driveway. (They're an older couple.)
Okay, granted, it started out with the purely selfish motive of "I don't feel like dealing with the gutter at the bottom of the driveway if it's full of snow." (It can be much harder than you would think to get in and out of.) So I did ours, then in the middle of it, I thought, "I should do Tony and Ro's driveway too."
So I did their driveway too. And when I was almost done, Ro came outside and was like, "What are you doing? You don't have to do that." I replied with, "I know, but I don't want to have to worry about you two." We talked a little bit as I was finishing and just before I was done, my dad came home from work and Ro called over to him, "Don - your daughter's shovelling our driveway!" in a way that sounded much more New York City than you would think it should after living down here for about 20 years.
I felt good when I got done - both because of the physicality (yay endorphins!) and because I did it for someone else too.

Didn't write tonight - brain was stuck and tired. So I ended up wandering around Youtube - which is both fun and scary. Scary because this time I found stuff with personal ties. (A local man tries out for American Idol in Princess Leia outfit and Jason Momoa twirling his gun at the 2006 NJ Creation Con.)

And I heard that there's talks of a Fast and the Furious 4 with both Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Dude. Just...dude. :-D
