I realized last night as I was figuring out my word count for today, that not only did I make up the 200 words I hadn't written on Friday, but I also wrote an 200 extra words. So, I wrote a little over 2000 words yesterday. This is just, *WOW*.

Today two of my cousins came down for brunch and to visit for a while. (These are the ones that live on Keebler Road. A few of you know who I'm talking about. :-P) It was nice seeing them again, even if I had to leave brunch early for a Women's Retreat planning meeting at church.

I had gotten back to the church before the second service let out, so I wandered to the nursery and started talking with the attendants. One of the kids - a cute girl not quite one saw me from across the room and made a beeline crawl for me and held out her arms for me to pick her up. It was one of the cutest things ever. So I did and she snuggled against me for a bit before wandering off to play with a Lego. Her mom was happy about that because she said she's been having a hard time with separation anxiety.

I'm getting excited about the retreat - which is in March. It looks like it's shaping up to be a good one and the other women on the committee are really cool.

But we found out as we were wrapping up the meeting around 2:15, that D's van had been broken into and her purse and cellphone stolen and her glove compartment had been gone through. From what someone else said, it sounded like it had happened while church was still going on and/or just wrapping up. :-(

After the meeting, I went to Panera to get a frozen caramel coffee (so not good for me, yet so yummy) and read some fic. :-D

From there, I stopped at the library to see if I could get a hold of some of Mary Balogh's books. (Yes, I realize she writes regency romance novels. Hers are fun!) I love that all the libraries in the county are hooked up, so I can do interlibrary loan. (I didn't today because I have a few other things I want to finish first, but the option's there!) And I ended up staying and getting a fair amount of writing done.

Started reading a book of Victorian ghost stories again while I ate dinner. (I absolutely love them - and most Victorian lit.) I'm working on trying to read more at home, so that one day I may actually have a snowball's chance in hell of clearing out my "To Read" shelf - which is currently overflowing. (I swear to God, I buy books like some women buy shoes.)

Watched Amazing Grace tonight. It was *really* really good - definitely recommend it. It's based on the abolition of the slave trade in the U.K. and stars Ioan Gruffudd. (Though, near the end, I couldn't stop giggling every time Rufus Sewell came on screen because he looked like a deranged Pilgrim.)

And, wow.... That was much more rambly than I expected it to be. I'm off to finish the last bit of writing for the night.

I think this should be your new sig line, along with your "leied" stories. :-)
