I went and got my hair cut today at SuperCuts. (Which, everytime I hear/say that name, I can't help but remember a conversation I overheard from some theatre friends:
"My stylist -"
"At Supercuts?"
"Yes, my stylist at Supercuts says..."

It looks good, but is a little shorter than I wanted - which is my own dang fault. Prior to December, my hair was long for years and during that time, it's developed a wave in it between my ears and my shoulders (though otherwise it's completely straight). Whenever I go to get my hair trimmed (regardless of length), I have them wash it too - to make it more manageable. So, when the stylist asked me how much I wanted to cut off after it was washed, I told her, she cut it, and I left a happy camper. Then it dried and the ends curled and it's a wee bit shorter than I wanted. So that'll be a lesson to me for the next time. I do think it looks cute from the front and back - it's just the profile I'm a bit iffy about. On the upside - my hair grows fast, so I'm not too worried about it.

I went to the mall to return the tea strainer/basket to Teavana that I bought last week. After I went last week, I was talking with my grammy and she was like, "I have a couple of those sort of things and I don't use them" (she's not a big fan of loose leaf tea) "so, here." I exchanged it for another tin so I could have enough room to store a pound of tea, if I ever find one that I like enough to buy that much of. But once I got home, I was thinking about it, and I'm going to go back tomorrow and return the two tins I have and just get the next size up - which will hold a pound. (The tin I have holds about 9 ozs and costs $6 - the next size up is $7. So - two tins for $12, or one for $7?)

I am still in love with the Snow Geisha (white cherry-flavored tea I bought last week). The only reason I am not buying a pound of it is because that would cost $108 ($15/2oz, less 10% discount for a pound). I refuse to pay that much for something that could technically be grown in my backyard, regardless of how spectacular it is. So, I'm looking at some of the herbal and rooibos (red) teas - which are in the $4-6/2oz range (same discount would apply).

While at the mall, I decided to go look for some tops to go with the skirt I bought last week. I ended up buying a bra, a long-sleeve black lightweight top, and two others in the same style, but other colors for work from Lane Bryant. The black shirt I can wear with it, but I didn't have any other luck, since all the purple shirts I saw were either deep purple or blue-purple and my skirt is red-purple. And, then, because I was carrying my Teavana bag and a cup of peppermint tea (which is good, but doesn't fit what I want - it's too light for one [I like my teas to have a bit of body, but I think that they just didn't brew it long enough - and even if they had, I have the feeling it's a light tea regardless] and the mint flavor's too much for me right before bed), I ended up pimping Teavana to the cashiers. One of which had asked me about it, since she wanted to get some for a friend.

This afternoon I watched two more episodes of "Eureka", so I'm now 3/4 of the way through season 1. I'm really enjoying it. But I think that they're forcing the whole Jack/Allison/Nathan thing too much. It's like, "Yes, we get that Allison and Jack are attracted to each other and Allison and Nathan still have issues and are still technically married, and Nathan doesn't like Jack. Can we please move on?" Also? Fargo's annoying. But I love Jo and Henry.

And the weather's been really nice here lately. We've had the windows open every night for the past week and a half or so - which makes me really happy. I love it when it's nice enough to have the windows open, but cool enough to also be able to burrow under a comforter.

In other news, Lois Maxwell, aka Miss Moneypenny in the Bond movies, died yesterday. I've only seen the first five Bond movies (Connery's first 4 and Lazenby's only) and I thought she was great. I did like the chemistry she and Connery had.

I'm in love with Rishi Tea in Jamaican Red Bush which is, of course, a rooibus tea. Yum.

So will there be pictures of the too-short hair? And you know your hair grows fast so it won't be long before it'll be just-right hair. *smile*

I'm definitely looking forward to trying the rooibos teas - I don't think I've ever had them before. And I want something that's a little more full-bodied than the herbal teas (though, I'm sure some can pack an oomph), and not quite as fruity as some look like they'd be. (I grew up on black tea, and herbal teas are probably on the other end of the spectrum, so it would definitely be an adjustment.)

No, no pictures. Just picture me when you saw me a couple weeks ago, minus about 2 inches of hair (and yes - the ends of my hair still do the flippy thing).

Jamaican Red is pretty fruity.

*pouts over the no pictures and the necessity of imagination-using*

*grin*
