May. 11th, 2013 11:59 pmMy dad and I went out to look at cars today, since I'm in the process of buying a new one. The first place we stopped at was the Chevy dealer so I could look at the Cruze and the Sonic. The sales rep was very nice and informative and took us out on a test drive of both cars. And when we were waiting for him to get the second car, my dad got into the driver's side on the two floor models and was checking things out from that POV and I swear he was thisclose to saying "vroom vroom". :-P They were both fun cars and I like them a lot, but going in I was leaning towards the Cruze and I still am.
Then we went to the Dodge dealer so I could look at the Dodge Dart. In general, I'd been leaning more towards the Dart since the beginning of my lookings, and taking the test drive totally confirmed it - the way it looks, the way it drives, the way it sounds. There may have been a bit of a car-gasm going on. The one downside to today was when we got back from that test drive, my dad got in the driver's seat to check it out and was like, "This is really nice. Maybe I could borrow it when I drive down to Florida." And my response was, "Um, no." If the sales rep wasn't there, the response would've been more along the lines of "Uh - NO WAY IN HELL AND WHAT IN THE HELL MAKES YOU THINK I'D EVEN *REMOTELY* AGREE TO THAT UNLESS I WAS THE ONE DRIVING?" While we were waiting for the sales rep to get me the price for the Dart, I sat in the Challenger floor model and that was nice. I think when I go back to do a second test drive of the Dart, I'm going to tell them I want to test drive the Charger and the Challenger too. :-P
In conclusion, I want to get the Dodge Dart, but I want the Chevy sales rep to get the sale.
