Jan. 30th, 2011 11:59 pmI had the healthiest grocery cart ever today! (Well, for me at any rate, though most of the time I do pretty well.)
But I'm starting a 21-day Daniel Fast on Tuesday, so I was buying a lot of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and some all-natural popcorn. (It's considered a partial fast, and it's based on Daniel 1:12-16 and Daniel 10:2-3. It's basically an all-natural vegan diet, with a few other alterations.) And I had never thought about it before, but it's hard finding all natural stuff in a regular grocery store. I'll need to go grocery shopping again tomorrow because I forgot to bring home the recipes I found for dinners this week.
It'll be good though, because it's going to help me really restructure my eating habits and help me break at least some of my bad habits and start cementing some good ones. (I'm thinking won't be too hard, considering I've been eyeing some of the fruit and thinking "No! It's for the fast!" - which is silly, because I can always go get more fruit.)
And just as importantly, I know this is also going to be a time of spiritual growth for me - which is good. It's something I know God's been laying on my for a while, even if I wasn't sure *how* He wanted me to do it.
I do have some RL friends who know I'm doing this and they're really supportive. And my mom knows part of it (since I usually eat at her place when I go over to watch "House") and she's really supportive.
