Jan. 9th, 2010 11:59 pmI gave in and saw Sherlock Holmes a third time this afternoon. I'm not sure why I love it so much - it pushes a lot of the right buttons for me. I think I'm going to have to buy the DVD. And I'm definitely getting the soundtrack. (I *love* Hans Zimmer.)
I don't ususally read review movies (most of the time I disagree), but I did read the "Entertainment Weekly" one the other day and I was amused at the reviewer calling Holmes and Watson "whimsical, nattering fops".
And this Robert Downey Jr. quote is courtesy of
spikedluv - "And oftentimes [Guy Ritchie] would congratulate both of us on finally being able to deliver some sort of performance approaching heterosexual."

My dad and I took down the Christmas tree today. I have to say - not as much fun as putting it up.
As we were doing so, my dad commented that he'd see about sending back the printer he got me and how buying gifts for me now isn't like when I was little. (I appreciate the gesture and I know that it's a useful thing to have, but right now, I don't use a printer very much [I can count on one hand the amount of times I used one last year] and don't really have the space for it. And my dad's one of those people where, if he gets you a 'practical' gift, you have to use it *all the time*.) I'll admit - I'm hard to shop for because I don't usually want much and my dad's averse to buying me the things I want to ask for, which is usually books, cds, dvds, things like that.
I made the comment of "I really do appreciate the printer, don't get me wrong, but I just wanted a duffel bag." (It was one of the three things I had asked him for.)
And my dad looked at me weird for a moment before saying, "Wait. Wait, wait, wait. You didn't get a duffel bag?"
I shook my head and he said, "Hold on a minute," and runs upstairs. He comes back downstairs a moment later with an LL Bean delivery bag and hands it to me. He then apologizes for forgetting it and inside's an orange Hawaiian print duffel bag. :-)

Went over to friend M's house with friend J tonight and the three of us had dinner and they showed me some episodes of Black Adder - which was lots of fun.
