Aug. 22nd, 2009 11:52 pmG.I. Joe was a lot of fun. Granted, my expectations were very low, and I was mocking it like crazy in my head, but I enjoyed it immensely. We'll need to watch it,
libralyte.
Upsides:
Christoper Eccleston's Scottis accent
Jonathan Pryce playing the President of the US (if just for the amusement factor of hearing the British accent)
Channing Tatum not wanting to do the movie before reading the script because he thought it would glorify war
According to Brendan Fraser, he plays a motorcycle-riding sergeant in the film who is a descendant of Rick O'Connell from The Mummy (both were directed by the Stephen Sommers). (It's alluded that he's Sgt Slaughter.)
Arnold Vosloo
Dennis Quaid
Ray Park
Downside:
A post-credits scene was planned where the famously mute ninja Snake-Eyes tells a joke to the G.I. Joe team, but Larry Hama advised against it since its humour would detract from the seriousness of the film.
It hit me on the way home that I kind of want a Hawk/Snake Eyes fic.
