Random SGA Thought
Sep. 8th, 2008 11:05 pmI was telling
eternalmusings about this a little last night, but thought about it some more today.
We all know that it's pretty obvious, at least in fanon (and, at least subtly in canon), that certain members of the Atlantis Expedition have "gone native" to an extent. In that, they now consider Atlantis to be home and wouldn't voluntarily give up going back to Earth on a permanent basis. (See: "The Return") This group would include Rodney, John, Radek, Carson, Elizabeth, Chuck, and a large portion of the original expedition.
On the other side, there are the people who see Atlantis as part of their careers, but it'll never be home for them. These people include Kavanaugh and Sam Carter, along with many people who come through on the Daedalus for a "tour of duty". (This doesn't meant that all of the people who've come through on the Daedalus feel this way. I have a feeling that Lorne would be put in the former category of a native.)
I have a feeling that Richard Woolsey, for all of his posturing and his rules would be a part of the former group. I can totally see him realizing at some point down the road that "Atlantis = home".
But, sadly, I doubt we'll ever be able to get to see that point.
Discussion, anyone?
