The Epic Tale of Rodney & John, Two Girl Scout Cookies in Love by [livejournal.com profile] bitter_crimson
And John apparently was really cool -- at least, according to all the other Samoas. It was actually quite disgusting.

Ordinary Life by [livejournal.com profile] astolat and [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza
"They all think I’m your boyfriend anyway," John said.
"Yes, so? You are my boyfriend," Rodney said. "Why is this a problem?"
"They thought I was before I even was!" John yelled.

The Other's Each by [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777
John was aware that he stood awkwardly in the middle of someone else’s living room, cast in beleaguered grays, a remnant from another place and time. Madison was a sharp contrast, standing in the doorway leading towards the kitchen, thumb-prints smudged on clean white paint. She thrummed with life.

Weddings, Plural, and a Yak by [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza
By the eighth time John Sheppard married Rodney McKay, they were old pros at the wedding thing, having weathered not only an Ouishan blood wedding, but also a twelve-hour Avalonian handfasting, a Malanese necklace exchange, and a Thurtu joining ceremony that invoked a fire god and featured seven kinds of cake.

And an honorable mention (since it's not a fic):

I went and saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull today. Now, it's also been a long time since I've seen any of the others and I don't know if I've actually seen the first three all the way through (*gasp!*), but I wanted to see this one in the theatre. But I did enjoy it (even with a few moments of "heh, that reminds me of this time on SG-1....").

But seeing it made me think of how much I love music and going with what I said yesterday, I really need to look into doing something with music and either theatre or movies. Granted, John Williams isn't my #1 film composer (he's probably #3 or #4 - depending on which I answer first for Howard Shore [Lord of the Rings]), but he's still amazing (even if I sometimes think he's as subtle with the use of his themes as a sledgehammer). But that's the thing - when you hear the Imperial March or Indy's theme, or pretty much anything else he's done, it's identifiable and recognizable and it can make you feel a certain way and remember things. (My #1 is Hans Zimmer and #2 is Danny Elfman.)

Yes, I have gotten tuned into LOLcats. Why do you ask? (Though, I'm mostly blaming [livejournal.com profile] luvxander for it.)
