Sep. 18th, 2006 12:41 amYou know, I really don't get my dad. I went from "heh, you're funny" to "um, *blinks* what?" in the space of about 24 hours.
Yesterday he was telling me, somewhat excitedly, about this new internet deal that we're going to be getting that's quicker than what we've got now (which is the main selling point) as well as cheaper and that it comes with a wireless router (or whatever) so that I could use a laptop anywhere in the house with it. Now, as cool as I think that is, it made me go, "Wait...." when he told me. I've not made it a secret that I'm going to get a laptop *at some point* (probably when I'm closer to moving out), but I'm definitely not in a hurry to do so. Plus, he and my brother are both firm believers that I spend too much time on the computer as it is and that it's interfering with me doing stuff. Now, as
eternalmusings can attest to, I normally spend about 2-3 hours on the computer a night, usually starting at 9 pm or later. If I wasn't on the computer at that time, I'd be doing one of two things - watching tv or reading. So, why would he want me to get a laptop with wifi, which would enable me to spend more time on a computer?
And then tonight, he was like, "Adrian, what are you doing with all this chocolate?"
The chocolate in question was a gallon ziplock bag filled about 1/5 of the way with the hacked up remains of a 3/4 pound solid milk chocolate bunny left over from Easter. I truthfully told him, "I wanted some chocolate last night and since that's the only stuff we have in the house, I cut it up, took two or three little pieces and put the rest of the way for later. Obviously you and Chase can have some if you want it."
